The LIGHT BULB is connected to a wire that leads into the room on the right. There is no visible way of turning off the light from here, in the hallway, although you could conceivably THROW something at it, shattering it and making a huge mess of GLASS SHARDS everywhere.But that's a silly idea.

Wrap the lightbulb in something, then smash it, so it doesn't make a mess.
